Primary Literacy Programme
Reading and Writing (PLP-R/ W) for KS1
This programme, developed by the Native-speaking English Teacher (NET) Section of the Curriculum Development Institute, Education Bureau (EDB), aims at facilitating the professional development of the English teachers and the improvement of the literacy levels of the students. Reading is the main focus of the programme and we aim to develop students’ comprehension skills and phonological knowledge through various activities and learning stations.
Fun with English Language Learning
1. Fun Recess
During recess, students participate in engaging English activities that spark their interest in learning the language. They chat with peers and teachers about various themes, fostering communication skills. Fun Recess offers interactive games and challenges across the playground, making learning enjoyable and dynamic.
2. Campus TV sharing
Our students enthusiastically prepare their videos, focusing on topics such as national security education, sayings of wisdom, and book recommendations, etc. Their videos are broadcast on Campus TV, fostering an environment where students can learn from each other’s performances.
English Ambassadors
A group of dedicated and committed English Ambassadors helps promote the love of English language and literature within the school community. They engage their peers through activities such as reading programs and language events. By fostering a supportive environment, they inspire others to enhance their language skills and appreciation for English.
3. English Drama Club
Our English Drama Club is a vibrant group where students explore their creativity through acting, scripting, and stage production. Students collaborate on performances, enhancing their communication skills and confidence while fostering teamwork. The club provides a supportive environment for students to express themselves, learn about drama techniques, and appreciate the art of storytelling.
STREAM Activities
The STREAM activities for P.1-6 offered engaging, hands-on projects that integrated STEM with English language lessons. Each level focused on collaborative learning and creativity, allowing students to explore scientific concepts through practical applications. By participating in these activities, students developed critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of the subjects, all while enhancing their English language proficiency.
