NET Scheme

All classes have NET lessons. It is hoped that students are exposed to an authentic English environment and also innovative teaching practices, planned and taught by both the NET and the local English teachers. In addition to mainstream classes, NET teachers are involved in many extra-curricular activities, such as ‘NET Time’ in the morning assembly and school TV, ‘Fun Recess,’ ‘English Ambassadors' Training’, ‘Drama Club’ and ‘English Day’. These activities are all aimed at providing an English-rich environment in school and arousing students’ interest in learning and using English. All students are encouraged to interact in English with our NET teachers.

They also join ‘Daily Reading Programme on the Internet’. Primary 1 students read with the parent volunteers in the morning reading time or after lunch. Every student records the number of books they have read and do English book reports so that they can win Gold, Silver or Bronze Award at the end of the school year.

English Ambassadors

They participate in the Fun Recess, NET Time in the morning assembly and on school TV, and design English games for other students to play on the English Day.

There were five game stalls which were about 'What Are Drugs?', 'Types Of Drugs', 'Why Are Drugs Bad For You?', 'How Do We Say 'No' To Drugs?' and 'Create A Slogan'. The English ambassadors designed the games and decorated their own game stalls. Before the students played the games, the English ambassadors had presented their topics with powerpoint in one minute. It helped the students to understand how to answer questions about the topics in the game stalls. Students got a lot of stamps and stickers by speaking English loudly and clearly. They had interest about 'Say No To Drugs' and learnt English enjoyably through games.

In the second term, English Day was held for P.1-3 students on 23rd June, 2011. The topic was 'A Healthy Life' which was about 'Eating Healthy Food', 'Exercises Keep us Healthy', ' Having Healthy Habits', 'Having Healthy Hobbies' and 'Caring for Others'.

The ambassadors helped P.1-3 students to learn what a healthy life is.
